Check It Out Fridays #11

Dear Book Reader,

Well, I’m getting more books than I have time to read right now and it’s kind of overwhelming!  I’m really having to pick and choose what I read.  I’m also trying to be good about not checking out “first timers”, but failing at that…miserably.  I seriously need a couple of days when nothing needs to be done and I can curl up on the couch or in a chair and just read.  My library’s summer reading program started almost two weeks ago, so I am trying to read more instead of doing other things.  Like finding more books on Goodreads.

First Time Check Out:

  • Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins (2nd copy)
  • Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor
  • Zoe Letting Go by Nora Price
  • Newtown: An American Tragedy by Matthew Lysiak
  • The Here And Now by Ann Brashares
  • Great by Sara Benincasa
  • The Treatment by Suzanne Young
  • Biggest Flirts by Jennifer Echols

Checked Out Again:

  • Liv, Forever by Amy Talkington
  • Alice In Zombieland by Gena Showalter
  • The Sound Of Letting Go by Stasia Ward Kehoe
  • Something Real by Heather Demetrios
  • Prisoner of Night And Fog by Anne Blankman (accidentally returned early)
  • Insanity by Susan Vaught

Renewed Again:

  • The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
  • The Other Countess by Eve Edwards
  • The Vicious Deep by Zoraida Cordova
  • The Savage Blue by Zoraida Cordova
  • The Ward by Jordana Frankel
  • Starry Nights by Daisy Whitney
  • Crewel by Gennifer Albin
  • Altered by Gennifer Albin
  • Her Dark Curiosity by Megan Shepherd

Returned For Keeps:

  • Don’t Look Back by Jennifer L. Armentrout
  • A Death-Struck Year by Makiia Lucier

So. Many. Books.  Not enough hours!  Two got returned this week for library keeps, which is good.  One I had to return because someone had it on hold, but I’m sure I’ll have it checked out again before we know it.  A hundred points for anyone who can figure out what book it was.

Read On,

Liz

Check It Out Fridays #7

It has been a really crazy week and I’ve been totally out of routine.  From being out of town, meetings, errands and work, I’ve had no time for blogging.  Oh, and thanks to Comcast, I was without cable and internet for five days.  Let me just say it was a blessing to be able to get someone out here earlier this week or I’d still be without these services!  I’ll stop my complaining about Comcast now.

I’ve had very little time for reading this week, but I’ve had time to return and get books back from the library!  I finally got the first season of Downton Abbey as well.  One episode of Season 4 and I was hooked (I’d have liked to see the rest of Season 4 on demand, but oh….I couldn’t.  Thanks Comcast. (I’m done complaining about them, promise.)).

Onto the books!

First Time Check Out:

  • The Ward by Jordana Frankel
  • Her Dark Curiosity by Megan Shepherd

Checked Out/Renewed Again…and Again:

  • The Vicious Deep by Zoraida Cordova
  • The Savage Blue by Zoraida Cordova
  • Ruins by Dan Wells
  • The Goddess Test by Aimee Carter
  • Altered by Gennifer Albin
  • Crewel by Gennifer Albin
  • The Other Countess by Eve Edwards
  • Above World by Jenn Resse
  • Mirage by Jenn Reese
  • Eve by Anna Carey
  • Once by Anna Carey
  • Rise by Anna Carey
  • Wake by Amanda Hocking
  • The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
  • Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter
  • Something Real by Heather Demetrios
  • The Sound of Letting Go by Stasia Ward Kehoe
  • Liv, Forever by Amy Talkington
  • Starry Nights by Daisy Whitney
  • Insanity by Susan Vaught
  • Panic by Lauren Oliver

I’m really hoping that next week results in a back to routine type living.  While everything that’s been going on this week has been great, and even insightful in ways, I feel so out of the loop of life.

Read On,

Liz
